At the foothills of the Uinta Mountains in Wanship, Utah, and only a 30 minute drive from Salt Lake City, you’ll arrive at the beautiful Lodge at Blue Sky, an Auberge Resorts Collection property. With a private canyon and oxidized-steel Creekside Cabins nestled into one side and infinity pool on the other, you’ll find an elegant rustic home here as you gaze upon the mountains and see wild horses running across the fields. There are Creek Houses, Sky Lodge with 19 guest rooms, the Earth Suites with 22 suites/deluxe rooms (all eco-designed), each with an outdoor fireplace cobbled by Aman veteran designer Stewart Campbell. Set upon a ranch owned by Michael and Barbara Phillips, its 46 guest rooms are nestled among a sprawling, near-3,500 acres and 35 miles of rivers, streams and high alpine lakes. Recently, the hotel was honored as The World’s 50 Best Hotel Awards as “one to watch.”
At the Lodge at Blue Sky, you can experience many amazing and unique activities against a beautiful, natural landscape. Some of its featured activities are:
Heli-ski program - Exclusive access to private ski zones in the Uinta and Wasatch Mountain ranges, with more than 200,000 acres of empty alpine bowls and steep chutes. In summer, the same helicopters take you to a remote stream or high mountain lake to fly-fish or a mountaintop for yoga/meditation.
Blue Sky Sporting Club - Journey to a mountaintop yurt stocked with 36 hand-crafted Purdy & Sons guns, and faux-fur throws and Pendleton blankets. Learn how to shoot with an experienced instructor trained in the British Percy Stansbury.
The Edge Spa - A wellness sanctuary with dramatic views of the property, the Spa helps restores guests with five treatment room, regionally inspired treatments and natural products. Guests can participate in yoga, massages, energy healing, cold plunges, guided meditation, go on a invigorating hike or horseback ride, and/or head to the relaxation pool overlooking Alexander Creek.
The Lodge rooms are mainly a modern-rustic style with cedar-plank walls, limestone floors, and Utah rock crystals. Some have a private back terrace with an outdoor swing. You can get a sense for the different energies the cabins would evoke in the winter or summer since there is a gas fireplace for those cozy winter nights, and expansive windows for summer sun. Each room is equipped with high-tech motion sensor devices like for the toilets and electricity. Highlights of the bathroom is the huge oval tub that looks out into the woods, and the rain shower floor is paved in river stones for a nice foot massage when you enter. BOOK YOUR ROOM.
