The Luxury Resort and Spa of Pennsylvania’s Woodlands.

A resort like no other, Nemacolin has been creating magical moments in Pennsylvania's Laurel Highlands for decades (only 90 minutes from Pittsburgh). Before Nemacolin opened to the public in 1970s as a resort, it was a private hunting lodge for two years. The luxury resort started as a family affair by Joseph A. Hardy III who purchased a large portion of land (now Nemacolin) for his daughter Maggie Hardy. What was originally a gift turned into a magical adventure for the Hardy family and all their guests offering 5 distinct hotels and homes for every type of stay scattered on 2,200 acres of property which includes the properties: Falling Rock, The Chateau, The Grand Lodge, The Estates, and The Homes. From intimate hotel rooms and suites to group receptions and luxury vacation homes, each experience is personalized to fit your needs.
Among the 5 sites, guests can discover Falling Rock, “the Art Deco Oasis of Nemacolin.” Inspired by the renowned architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright (Fallingwater), there are sophisticated suites that overlook the gorgeous views of the Laurel Highlands, while couples and smaller families can settle in luxurious rooms that surround the golf area and give off country club vibes. There are also private apartments and homes available on site (several members of the Hardy family own). If you want to opt for a classic Tudor-style luxury hotel, then The Grand Lodge is waiting for you. This is the original hotel of Nemacolin Woodlands Resort, totally reimagined to combine woodsy charm with the height of luxury, and scheduled for re-opening in Fall 2023. Moncur Design Associates, Inc. and Gensler architects are overseeing the project, working together with the Hardy family to address the needs of guests and their vision for the future of Nemacolin. The Estates offer more tailored experiences, as you can book your private escape for up to 22 people.
With impressive milestones and new additions added to the property since 1987, last year was a big year for Nemacolin and the Hardy family — in 2022, Nemacolin celebrated its 35th anniversary, and the resort earned 22 Forbes’s Stars for the third consecutive year. The resort also received a No. 2 rank from Travel + Leisure as one of The 10 Best Resorts in the Mid-Atlantic, and Condé Nast Traveler recognized Nemacolin as #14 on their list of the Top Destination Spa Resorts in the United States: Readers’ Choice Awards 2022. The Woodlands Spa and Holistic Healing Center is a highlight of Nemacolin’s amenities. There is a hammam, sauna, and pool, as well as a spa lounge. There is also an elegant fireplace lounge where you can take a nap or relax with a snack after you're done with cutting-edge therapies and 5-star treatments.
At Nemacolin’s Spa and Healing Center, you’ll find traditional and modern holistic practices for optimal curated wellness, which includes acupuncture, specialty massages, yoga, and other enhancement suite options like salt-water float therapy, infrared light therapy, cryotherapy, NovaTHOR PBM therapy and more.

The Popular Ex-Bachelor whose Season was filmed at Nemacolin.
The Bachelor’s 25th Season was famously filmed at Nemacolin, featuring Matt James, the first black Bachelor. During filming, Matt James stayed at Mystic Falls, one of Nemacolin's private estates, while the 30+ women vying for his love stayed at The Chateau, the main building of the resort. The Chateau, where James first met his contestants during the limo entrances in his premiere, opened to guests in 1997. Inspired by The Ritz in Paris, Mr. Hardy wanted to bring the architecture and grandeur of this iconic hotel to Nemacolin. Bachelor Nation fans might also recognize this resort from previous seasons. Ex Bachelor alums Chad Johnson, Peter Weber, Kelley Flanagan, and Jason Tartick have also stayed here. Room rates at Nemacolin range from $349 to $1000 a night.
